Recent Workshop Highlight
Slab Building: Ceramic Houses
Our latest slab-building workshop was a beautiful exploration of architectural ceramics. Students learned the fundamental techniques of working with clay slabs—rolling, cutting, scoring, and joining—to create stunning miniature ceramic houses.
Each participant developed their own unique architectural vision, from cozy cottages with textured roofs to modern geometric structures. The slab technique allowed for incredible creative freedom, and students discovered how to use templates, create clean joints, and add decorative elements like windows, doors, and chimneys.
The workshop culminated in a stunning collection of ceramic houses, each reflecting the personality and imagination of its creator. These pieces now serve as both decorative objects and cherished memories of the learning journey.

The Artist's Journey
Sharon's journey with clay began over thirty years ago, sparked by a deep fascination with the transformative power of earth and fire. Each piece begins as a humble lump of clay, shaped by skilled hands and guided by an artistic vision that celebrates both form and function.
Working from her studio, Sharon creates pottery that bridges the gap between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary design. Her work is characterised by organic forms, rich textures, and glazes that capture the essence of natural elements.
Every piece is individually crafted, making each item unique—a testament to the human touch in an increasingly digital world. Sharon's pottery invites you to slow down, appreciate the beauty in everyday objects, and connect with the ancient art of ceramics.
